12 Finally - Wendy Mass (Novel Reflection)

Rory Swenson has been waiting patiently for her long long 11 years to do whatever she wants on her wishlist. Finally, it was her 12th birthday. Everything she has wanted has come true:

1. Get a cell phone
2. Stay home alone
3. Get her own screen name so she can IM
4. Shave my legs

...

Firstly, with her phone, something happened that she didn't like! There was a phone number kept calling her ordering pizza! It was weird but she was still happy to get a phone. Later on, she got to stay at home alone because she's independent and responsible enough to do that stuff. But it didn't go well actually, she heard some kind of strange sounds and she really did think it was a thief (I'd never stay home alone...). After that day, she didn't even want to think of staying home alone. Things aren't going right on her wishlist. People misunderstand that she is a boy because Rory can use for both gender. When she shaved her leg... It was terrible! She didn't read the instruction well so her skin... was like felling off her leg! She terrified by that! But at the end she was happy because all of those on her wishlist lead her to a whole different relationship, more friends, more freedom... Mom trusted her, she got new friends and that is what a teenager really needs.

I did enjoy this book so I'd rate it 5 out of 5. You might find it interesting too. Go to the library and check it out for the break.

Since a little kid, Amanda has always celebrated her birthday with Leo - her best friend. But on her 10th birthday Leo said something that hurts her feelings which is he doesn't want to celebrate every birthdays with Amanda. Since that, Amanda and Leo have never talk again. Soon, it was her 11th birthday. She started to get rid of anything that reminds her of Leo. A pot that she and Leo grew a little plant in it, the pictures... she threw them straight out of the window. After that night, it was morning, it was .. her 11th birthday! It wasn't like what she expected, it was horrible! Her dad was totally sick, her mom has an important meeting so she has to take a bus, and when she came to school, it was history POP quiz! She hated it! Her mom got fired because she took the wrong poster. It was messes up! Amanda just want her birthday to end. But the next morning, when she woke up, it was her birthday AGAIN! That happened the same to Leo too, so that's why they got back together to solve the problems. Finally, they figured out that, their great-great-grandfathers were enemies and the tree pots were those who kept Amanda and Leo save, but Amanda threw it out of the window. They were stuck in the same day, and no one else can help. They just have to change it by themselves.

I really like this book, it entertained me a lot and I'd suggest it to my friends because it's very funny and teenagers like us might enjoy it!
