Waiting patiently, Randi finally told herself, to convince Gellie to do what she wanted.

Unfortunately, Gellie's mom isn't that kind of easy person who gave up all her work in 3 years and let Gellie be in a band that didn't even popular. Gellie's very confused. Would she choose to be with her mom, leaving to Hollywood, or stay there with her friend, and begin to start something?

Read and enjoy.

I didn't really like this book. It has no clear conflict, but it's kind of cute that Gellie and Randi started out a band. But however, it's not my type. :D

12 Finally - Wendy Mass (Novel Reflection)

Rory Swenson has been waiting patiently for her long long 11 years to do whatever she wants on her wishlist. Finally, it was her 12th birthday. Everything she has wanted has come true:

1. Get a cell phone
2. Stay home alone
3. Get her own screen name so she can IM
4. Shave my legs

...

Firstly, with her phone, something happened that she didn't like! There was a phone number kept calling her ordering pizza! It was weird but she was still happy to get a phone. Later on, she got to stay at home alone because she's independent and responsible enough to do that stuff. But it didn't go well actually, she heard some kind of strange sounds and she really did think it was a thief (I'd never stay home alone...). After that day, she didn't even want to think of staying home alone. Things aren't going right on her wishlist. People misunderstand that she is a boy because Rory can use for both gender. When she shaved her leg... It was terrible! She didn't read the instruction well so her skin... was like felling off her leg! She terrified by that! But at the end she was happy because all of those on her wishlist lead her to a whole different relationship, more friends, more freedom... Mom trusted her, she got new friends and that is what a teenager really needs.

I did enjoy this book so I'd rate it 5 out of 5. You might find it interesting too. Go to the library and check it out for the break.

The Rose that Grew from Concrete - Tupac Shakur

The Rose that Grew from Concrete
---  Tupac Shakur ---
Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.

• 1. What is concrete? Explain, using imagery, what it looks, feels, smells, tastes and sounds like.
-        -  Concrete is something people use to build house and it needs to be strong enough to make the house solid. It doesn’t look nice and it actually looks disgusting. People walk on it, spit on it. It represents something bad or problems.

• 2. What is a rose? Using imagery to explain it.
-       -   A rose is a pretty and pleasant flower. It represents something nice, beauty, or something that overcome the problems.
• 3. What is the tone of this poem?
-        -  The tone of this poem is strong but soft at the same time. It probably cheers people up. It sounds great and happy.
• 4. What is the message of the poem?
-         - The message is to believe in ourselves. We can do anything if we try and we can make something out of nothing. We can change, from bad to good.
• 5. What figurative language does the poet use?
-          - The poet uses imagination to compare concrete as a bad person; and rose is that person after some changes, that person becomes a better person.
